BROOKLYN, NY — Jamaican-born fashion designer and creative Courtney Washington is embracing a new chapter for his brand with the opening of a new location at Restoration Plaza, 1360 Fulton Street, Suite 200B, in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Situated above the Post Office, the new space represents the Courtney Washington Fashion House, offering customers an intimate shopping experience designed to bring fashion closer to everyday life.
The designer recently joined forces with Age Friendly Central Brooklyn for its Annual Fashion Show for Seniors, an event that brought guests out in impressive numbers to celebrate style, creativity and the enduring appeal of fashion across generations.
Touted as the largest gathering to date, the event provided an opportunity for attendees to enjoy the fashion experience while underscoring the importance of creating inclusive spaces where people of all ages can participate in and appreciate the world of style.
For Washington, the occasion was particularly meaningful. “It was an emotional event as everyone had such a great time,” he said, reflecting on the gathering and the enthusiasm of those who attended.
The new location, meanwhile, signals a fresh look and feel for the fashion brand, even as the designer acknowledges that the arrangement is temporary while work continues at Restoration Plaza. “This new space is the new look, new feel, new groove for the brand. It’s a temporary space because of the work being done at Restoration Plaza,” Washington explained.
Despite its temporary nature, the boutique has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the personality and vision of the Courtney Washington brand. “When you come in, you feel like you’re in your wardrobe, so it’s set up purposely for that. So when you come in, you feel like you’re in an extension of your wardrobe,” Washington emphasized.
The concept gives customers a more personal connection to the brand, allowing them to explore the collections in an environment intended to feel familiar, welcoming and reflective of their own individual style.

Formally trained at Pratt Institute and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Washington has consistently focused on creating collections that celebrate femininity, beauty and timeless style. His approach places emphasis on fashion that transcends fleeting trends while encouraging women to express their individuality with confidence.

With the launch of the new space, Washington is expanding that vision beyond the clothing itself, creating an environment where the shopping experience becomes an extension of the lifestyle his brand represents.
The choice of Restoration Plaza as the setting is also significant. For more than 50 years, the landmark development has served as an anchor and cultural hub for the Central Brooklyn community. It remains a symbol of grassroots community development, bringing together commerce, culture and civic life in a neighborhood with a rich history of entrepreneurship and community engagement.
Washington’s presence at the Plaza reflects an appreciation for that legacy and the opportunity to connect his creative enterprise with the people and businesses that help define the neighborhood.
His collaboration with Age Friendly Central Brooklyn further reinforces the relationship between fashion and community, demonstrating that style is not confined to a particular age group or generation. The successful turnout at the seniors’ fashion show offered a reminder that fashion can serve as a powerful vehicle for self-expression, confidence and social connection.
As he welcomes customers to the new location, now open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Washington is encouraging both residents and visitors to stop by, discover the brand and make fashion part of their everyday lives.
“Remember, life is fabulous. Life is groovy, so keep enjoying it. Life is filled with fashion, so come in and shop,” Washington said.
With its personalized setting, community connections and emphasis on timeless style, the Courtney Washington Fashion House at Restoration Plaza marks another step in the designer’s creative journey, bringing his fashion vision to the vibrant streets of Central Brooklyn.
